SHE IS NOT ALONE
Her crime is that she married poorly and stayed too long. Tonight she is driving two hundred miles to Palm Beach to move in with her parents until she can regroup. She looks back at her three- year-old son asleep in his car seat. Her husband was abusive and then unfaithful. In his manipulation he convinced her that their failed marriage was her fault. Now she’s driving from a world where she can no longer live to a home she never wanted to return to. She will need to be brave for a thousand more evenings, to believe she is more than how he defined her.
She, or someone like her, will one day drive into your town. This story is playing out more and more. She is terrified to trust deeply again. She can bluff confidence but inside she is fighting to hold it together. Jesus is right there with her tonight. He is so proud of her. But she struggles mightily to dare believe that it is true.
This is where you come in.
