Dr. T.A. Powell has a Pastor’s heart having planted and served as Sr. Pastor for two churches in Virginia and the last one for twenty-six years. In addition to that he has been serving as an Interim/transitional pastor at a local church in Southwest Virginia.
Since 2005, Dr. Powell has been an Adjunct Professor of Religion at Liberty University and teaching a few additional courses as an online Adjunct for Regent University and Houston Baptist University. He received his B.S. Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Masters and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Liberty University.
Dr. Powell is very passionate about spiritual and emotional health within the heart. He is interested in spiritual formation; authentic accountability and helping people get beyond the spiritual baggage that is created from failures, dysfunctional homes, addictions and soured relationships.
His Doctor of Ministry Thesis was on “Forced Terminations among Clergy: Causes and Recovery. He also wrote a booklet of his own personal story entitled, My Journey of Brokenness, Healing and Restoration.
He and his wife Betty have been married since 1968 years and have three children and eight grandchildren. They reside in the Lynchburg, Virginia area.
AREAS OF INTEREST AND STUDY
